CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF NYAYA PHILOSOPHY, EPISTEMOLOGY, AND AYURVEDIC RESEARCH METHODS
Dr. Gaurav*, Dr. Ramnihor Tapsi Jaiswal, Prof. Manohar Ram
ABSTRACT The ancient Indian health system known as Ayurveda has endured because of its solid foundation, which consists of fundamental and basic principles derived from Indian philosophical ideas. The Nyaya school of Indian philosophy is renowned for its discussions on Pramaana, or the methods of reliable analysis. "Epistemology" is the study of these scientific inquiry methods. As a result, the core of the Nyaya epistemology or way of thinking has changed the scientific inquiry process to become methodical and practical. The methods of analysis and verification described in Nyaya were most likely the earliest instruments ever used in scientific research, which is the process of acquiring information. Much discussion surrounds the selection of research methodologies that reveal the truth and broaden our understanding, especially in the field of Ayurveda. The ancient ideas must be examined in the context of contemporary science, free from myth or error. Thus, the purpose of this review study is to clarify the connection between the three pillars of Ayurvedic philosophy—Nyaya philosophy, epistemology, and research methodology—and their importance in advancing Ayurvedic knowledge. Keywords: Nyaya, Basic, Applied, Pragmatic, Scientific-Enquiry, Research. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
