Abstract

EFFECTS OF NEUROPLASTICITY BASED BRAIN GYM EXERCISES ON ATTENTION AMONG GERIATRICS

ABSTRACT

Background of the study: Brain gym exercises helps in improving attention among geriatrics patients. It is considered beneficial that Neuroplasticity based brain gym exercises makes vast changes in improving concentration, attention, cognition among geriatrics. These changes have been seen after two weeks of implantation of brain gym exercises. Aim and Objective of the study: The aim of the study was to assess the effects of neuroplasticity based brain gym exercises on attention among geriatrics. Methodology: This study consists of 30 samples who were falling under the category of 60-65years, were divided into group-A and group-B. Group-A consisting of 15 samples was given brain gym exercises and group-B consisting of 15 samples was given breathing exercises with duration of 6 weeks Outcomemeasures: The Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) Result: The pre and post test scores showed that the Neuroplasticity based brain gym exercises was effective in improving attention among geriatrics. Conclusion: The study concluded that Neuroplasticity based brain gym was effective on attention among geriatrics.
