A SHORT REVIEW ON SACRED FIG PLANT: FICUS RELIGIOSA

ABSTRACT Objective: The purpose of the study was to perform a systematic literature review to analyze Ficus religiosa a traditional medication used in the Management of different diseases. Ficus religosa Linn. (Family: Moraceae) is used to treat a number of illnesses in traditional medicine. It is one of the herbs that are listed in all of the ancient texts related to homeopathy, Siddha, Ayurveda, and Unani.[1] The stem bark, fruits, buds, latex, and other plant parts are used to cure a variety of illnesses, including skin conditions, heart problems, constipation, jaundice, mumps, and dysentery. Ficus religiosa Linn., a large evergreen tree that is found all over the world as cultivated or wild, is the subject of this review. It is thought to be the oldest tree in Indian history and has great mythological, religious, and medicinal significance.
