IMPACT OF HYGIENE MANAGEMENT IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Karishma*, Rajaram R. Rajbhar*
ABSTRACT Hand hygiene practice (HHP) is a fundamental and effective measure to prevent the spread of infections, especially in paediatrics healthcare settings where patients are particularly vulnerable. The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 virus, has highlighted the urgent need to reinforce such protective health behaviours. With its rapid global spread since December 2019, COVID-19 has led to significant public health responses, including a renewed emphasis on hygiene practices. This study explores the impact of the pandemic on HHP among paediatrics physicians, considering the increased risk of virus transmission in clinical environments. The research also highlights the role of technology—such as mobile devices and sensors—in monitoring health conditions and supporting disease control, though such applications remain underutilized. By reviewing current systems for COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment, thestudy underscores the potential for integrating diverse technological approaches to develop scalable, efficient solutions for managing public health crises.
