ABSTRACT Oral cancer remains a major health concern, with high mortality rates largely due to late-stage diagnosis. Early detection is critical for improving treatment outcomes and survival rates. This review explores recent advancements in oral cancer detection technologies, including VELscope, Munh Parishak, Identafi, OralID, and the Hydrogel Lollipop. These innovative tools utilize a variety of approaches, such as fluorescence visualization, multi-spectral imaging, and non-invasive diagnostic techniques, to detect early-stage cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Each technology offers unique benefits, from enhancing diagnostic accuracy to providing cost-effective, accessible screening methods, particularly for underserved populations. While these tools are revolutionizing the early detection of oral cancer, further research and integration into clinical practice are essential to maximize their impact. The continued evolution of these technologies holds great promise for reducing oral cancer mortality by enabling earlier and more accurate diagnosis, ultimately improving patient outcomes on a global scale.
