BIOCHEMICAL SCREENING OF NIMBATHI THYLAM IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PORUTHU VAATHAM (JUVENILE IDIOPATHIC ARTHRITIS) IN PAEDIATRIC AGE GROUP

ABSTRACT

Siddha system of medicine extend its hand in the prevention and management of number of immunoinflammatory disorders that includes JIA(Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis). 48 in 100000 childrens in india battle with JIA and they starts their day with pain and inflammations that affects their physicalmental and musculo skeletal growth. Eventhough they are managed with the steroids and NSAIDS the chronic synovial inflammation leads to bone and joint erosions and cause loss of functions. The siddha text Agatheesar kuzhandhai maruthuvam discuss about the 40 types of Baalar vaatham. Poruthu vaatham is one among the types of baalar vaatham. The aim of the study was to evaluate the biochemical analysis of the trial drug Nimbathi thylam and its biochemical properties are analysed with standard procedures of biochemical test to document the effectivenessof the medicine. It is concluded with the precence of certain phytochemical that justify the better use of the medicine.
