VANDHATAVA - A CLINICAL EXPLORATORY STUDY WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO FEMALE INFERTILITY WITH MANAGEMENT IN AYURVEDA

ABSTRACT One in every four couples in developing countries had been found to be affected by in- fertility, when an evaluation of responses from women in Demographic and Health Surveys from 1990 was completed in collaboration with WHO in 2004. In India alone many women are suffering from infertility. The major causes are including male factor such as azoospermia, hypospadias, female factors such as peritoneal factor, tubal factor, ovarian factor, cervical factor. Sometimes unexplained causes are also present where bth the partner is nor- mal. Ayurveda describes vandhyatva with its treatment protocol. Sinceany researchers have worked on this burning issue but still the awareness and proper treatment regarding disease are yet to be explored.
