STUDY ON THE ANTIOXIDANTS EFFECTS OF GUDUCHI IN DIABETIC WITH NONALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE
*Dr. Suhail Jandial - MD Kayachikitsa, Dr. Kshama Gupta MD - Sharir Rachana
ABSTRACT Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) exhibits antioxidant properties that may be beneficial in managing diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Studies suggest Guduchi can help regulate blood sugar levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and protect the liver from damage. It also possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which are relevant to both conditions.Antioxidant Effects and Diabetes Guduchi contains various compounds with antioxidant activity, such as alkaloids, diterpenoid lactones, and phenolics. These compounds can help scavenge free radicals, reducingoxidative stress, a key factor in the development and progression of diabetes. Research indicates Guduchi can lower blood glucose levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and enhance glucose utilization in diabetic animal models. Studies have shown that Guduchi can normalize antioxidant enzyme levels (like SOD and CAT) that are altered in diabetes.Antioxidant Effects and NAFLD NAFLD is characterized by oxidative stress and inflammation in the liver. Guduchi's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties may help mitigate these effects in NAFLD. By reducing oxidative stress, Guduchi could potentially protect liver cells from damage and improve liver function.Overall Benefits: Guduchi has been traditionally used to support liver health, manage diabetes, and improve overall well-being. Its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antidiabetic properties make it a promising candidate for managing both diabetes and NAFLD. Further research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms and clinical efficacy of Guduchi in these conditions. Keywords: . [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
