ABSTRACT

This project aimed to evaluate the health status of 20 individuals through comprehensive analysis of serum biomarkers associated with prevalent metabolic, cardiovascular, and renal disorders. The primary objective was to assess disease risk via targeted biomarker quantification, enabling early detection and intervention strategies. Blood samples were collected under standardized conditions and analyzed in a biochemistry laboratory using validated analytical techniques. The following biomarkers were measured, Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), Fasting glucose, Amylase, Oxidative stress markers namely Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx), relevant to cardiovascular and diabetic pathophysiology. Creatinine and urea, Bilirubin, Total cholesterol. Analysis revealed clinically significant patterns: Metabolic dysregulation: Elevated glucose levels in 35% of participants, indicating prediabetic or diabetic states. Hypercholesterolemia observed in 40% of subjects, correlating with increased cardiovascular disease susceptibility. Elevated creatinine and urea concentrations in 25% of participants, suggesting compromised renal filtration. Variable SOD and GPx activity indicated heterogeneous oxidative stress burdens.

Keywords: Biomarkers, Hepatic function, Cardiac function, Metabolic dysregulation, Renal impairment, Oxidative stress, Pancreatic function, Hyperchholesterolemia.
