ABSTRACT Andrographis echioides is a significant medicinal plant traditionally utilized in South Asia for its wide spectrum of therapeutic benefits. Phytochemical investigations reveal a rich profile of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, glycosides, steroids, tannins, and alkaloids. These compounds are believed to be responsible for the plant's documented pharmacological activities, which include potent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, anthelmintic, analgesic, antipyretic, hepatoprotective, and antioxidant effects. The traditional uses of A. echioides range from treating fevers, goitre, and liver diseases to addressing bacterial and fungal infections, and even promoting hair health. Modern scientific studies have begun to validate many of these traditional claims, providing a foundation for its potential application in new drug development and natural healthcare.
