ABSTRACT Ayurveda's traditional eye care, Netra Roga Chikitsa, is gaining interest as a complementary therapy. This review evaluates traditionaluses and scientific evidence for key Ayurvedic ocular formulations:Triphala, Saptamrut Lauha, Yashtimadhu, Jivanti, and Daruharidra. Acomprehensive literature search was conducted across scientificdatabases and traditional Ayurvedic texts, including in-vitro, animal, and human clinical studies. These formulations demonstrate significantantioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and nutritive actions onthe eyes. Triphala and Yashtimadhu show strong evidence for dry eyesand strain, Saptamrut Lauha for myopia-related symptoms,Daruharidra for infections and inflammation, and Jivanti for generalnourishment.
