AN INTEGRATED APPROACH IN THE MANAGEMENT OF RAKTAPITTA

ABSTRACT

Raktapitta; as the name suggest, this vyadhi is caused by the vitiation of rakta and pitta. The main aetiology of this disease is pitta vardhak ahar, which lead to vitiation and increase in pitta dosha. As rakta dhatu is said to be samandharma as that of pitta dosha, rakta dhatu also get vitiated and often increased due to its swapramana. To cure raktpitta vyadhi, an integrated approach is necessary viz pitta shamak as well as rakta shodhak chikitsa. In this study the patient was diagnosed as urdhwag raktapitta and treated by shaman and shodhan chikitsa.
