IN VITRO COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF AJITA AGADA AND SAINDHAVADI YOGA: A TRADITIONAL AYURVEDIC APPROACH
Dr. Nilesh Tatyarao Gore* and Dr. Apeksha Pradeep Chinchole
ABSTRACT The emergence of antibiotic resistance and oxidative stress-related disorders highlights the need for alternative and complementary therapies. This study aims to evaluate and compare the in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of two classical Ayurvedic formulations Ajita Agada and Saindhavadi Yoga. Using the agar well diffusion method for antimicrobial testing and DPPH assay for antioxidant activity, this research demonstrates both formulations exhibit significant bioactivity against selected bacterial and fungal strains. The results support their traditional use and suggest potential for further pharmacological exploration. Keywords: Ajita Agada, Saindhavadi Yoga, Antimicrobial activity, Antioxidant activity.
