CONSEQUENCES OF HYDROGEN BONDING IN BIOSHERE
Sunakar Panda*
ABSTRACT The molecules like water, protein, deoxyribonucleic acid, carbohydrates etc. are the prime molecules constituting all the living systems in the biosphere. Hydrogen bonds play significant role in maintaining configuration and conformation of all these biologically important molecules for specific biological function. In this review, an attempt has been made to discuss various types of hydrogen bonds, their mechanism of formation and their possible participation in maintaining structure of biologically active molecules for specific functions. Keywords: Hydrogen bonds, Dipole-dipole interaction, Water structure, Protein structure, DNA structure [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
