UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF RESEALED ERYTHROCYTES: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
Saravanan K.* and J. Gomathi
ABSTRACT Resealed erythrocytes are becoming more and more well-known as effective and safe drug delivery vehicles. Red blood cells are hypotonically lysed to enable drug loading, and then they are resealed under isotonic parameters to create these carriers. They are perfect for targeted and prolonged medication release because of their natural origin, lengthy half-life, and capacity to entrap various medicinal substances. A variety of medications, including enzymes, antiviral substances, and anti-inflammatory chemicals, have been delivered via resealed erythrocytes with increased effectiveness and decreased toxicity. The manufacturing procedures, drug-loading strategies, characterization instruments, and contemporary pharmaceutical uses of resealed erythrocytes are highlighted in this study. They are a promising platform in advanced drug delivery research because of their ability to improve therapeutic results with little adverse effects. Keywords: Resealed erythrocytes, Targeted therapy, Drug delivery, Cellular carriers, Red blood cells. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
