ABSTRACT Herbal cosmetics, enriched with plant-based active ingredients, have gained popularity due to their therapeutic benefits, safety and compatibility with the skin. They offer advantages such as improved skin elasticity, hydration, and protection against environmental damage, making them ideal for diverse skincare needs. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a vegan herbal face cream scrub incorporating natural ingredients like buckwheat, kokum, chia and noni for enhanced skincare benefits. Botanical powder and extracts were prepared and the face cream scrub was formulated through various trials, optimizing ingredient concentrations, particle sizes, preservatives and base compatibility. Various parameters including pH balance, homogeneity, appearance, scrubbing effect and stability were evaluated. The final formulation showed promising results, including a pH of 5.5, good homogeneity, continuous smear and easy removal. Stability testing confirmed the product's shelf life and it showed no irritation in primary skin irritation tests. Hence the study successfully helped in development of a stable, effective and safe herbal face cream-base scrub using natural ingredients that would meet the growing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly skincare products.
