FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL LIPSTICK

ABSTRACT

Lipsticks are one of the most popular cosmetic items. The main purpose of lipsticks are to protect lips that are prone to chapping and dryness. While the components in synthetic sources have many negative effects, the phrase “Herbal” is a sign of security. This herbal formulation was conducted to examine information about the history of lipstick, ingredients used in the preparation of lipsticks, focusing on the natural and chemical ingredients, methods of preparation for the lipsticks and the characterization of the lipsticks. Lipsticks imparts attractive color, glossy appearance to lips, accentuating good point and distinguishing the defects. It also prevent cracking of lips, which led to bacterial infection. Lipsticks also provides emollient action on lips due to various adverse effects of available synthetic preparations. The present study was lipstick to avoid potential side effects such as skin irritation, allergy reaction, nausea, dermatitis, drying of lips and more serve even fetal. So, the demand of the cosmetics containing herbal ingredients increased universally because it is safe. and can be extensively used by the women with satisfaction. They support preserving the lips innate good looks and health.
