FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF MORINGA OLIEFERA EFFERVECENT TABLETS

ABSTRACT Moringa oleifera, a nutrient-rich plant, offers various health benefits. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate effervescent tablets containing Moringa oleifera extract. The tablets were prepared using citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, and other excipients. The formulation was optimized for effervescent agent ratio, binder, and filler. Evaluation parameters included physical properties (weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration time), effervescence (reaction time, carbon dioxide release), and chemical properties (pH, moisture content). The tablets exhibited satisfactory physical and chemical properties, with rapid effervescence and acceptable stability.
