AROMATIC INFLUSIONS: EXPLORING ASTRINGENT NATURAL INGREDIENTS FOR ENHANCED TEA BLENDS

ABSTRACT Herbal tea is mostly used for the boosting energy levels and invigorating the body. Also to improve human health and fitness. As we know herbal tea is nourishing the nervous system and strengthening the immune system. On that basis of data this formulation was prepared by adding some natural ingredient with their pharmacological properties to improve herbal tea consumption. The herbal tea was prepared using various natural ingredient such as Clove, Cardamom, Rose Petal, Butterfly Pea Flower, Turmeric, Lemon Grass, Athimathuram, Ashwagantha, Amla, and Mint. . All the ingredient are used according to their physical and chemical properties and biological actions. Tea was formulated by using simple decoction method. The tea was evaluated for in-vitro free radical scavenging activity (Antioxidant), Estimation of Total Phenolic Content and Estimation of Total Flavonoids Content. The herbal tea was evaluated for parameter like type and frequency of herbal tea, appearance of herbal tea, fragrance of herbal tea and taste of herbal tea. The data collected for all the evaluated parameter for the herbal tea showed positive feedback for herbal tea and suggested that it can be a promising alternative as a healthy drink.
