ABSTRACT

Benzodiazepines: Benzodiazepines (BZDs) are one of the most significant and highly examined aromatic heterocycle, containing a benzene ring and a diazepine ring.• In the past few decades, BZDs have played a remarkable role as heterocyclic moieties in the field of organic synthesis and medicine due to their wide range of applications in the pharmaceutical field, which include various types of activities such as Antideprant, anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, antiepileptic, hypnotic and sedative functions.• The first commercially identified benzodiazepine drug is chlordiazepoxide/Librium.
