*Aboli M. Ghate, Nitin B. Kohale, Suraj K. Yadav and Dr. H. S. Sawarkar
ABSTRACT Herbal syrups have gained prominence due to their therapeutic potential, ease of administration, and consumer acceptability. The formulation of these syrups involves optimizing factors such as viscosity, stability, and bioavailability using techniques like central composite design (CCD). Various medicinal plants, including Ocimum sanctum, Syzygium aromaticum, and Adhatoda vasica, contribute to their pharmacological activities, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects. Safety assessments, including toxicity testing, microbiological quality control, and clinical trials, ensure their efficacy and consumer safety. Personalized herbal formulations and sustainable sourcing practices are emerging trends in herbal medicine. However, challenges such as lack of standardization, potential contamination, and regulatory constraints persist. Future research should focus on clinical validation and improved formulation techniques to enhance the credibility and acceptance of herbal syrups in modern medicine.[1,5] Keywords: Herbal syrup, formulation, pharmacological activity, safety assessment, standardization, optimization, bioavailability.
