A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITY AND PHYTOCHEMISTRY OF ALBIZIA AMARA ROXB
Sushant Tiwari and Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Ahuja*
ABSTRACT Albizia amara Roxb. has attracted a lot of interest because of its extensive phytochemical profile and varied pharmacological characteristics. Many of its therapeutic uses have been supported by modern scientific studies, although it has historically been used in a variety of ethnomedicinal traditions. According to phytochemical investigations, it contains bioactive substances such alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, and saponins that enhance its therapeutic effects. This plant has a wide range of properties, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, and anticancer actions, according to pharmacological research. Interestingly, extracts from the leaves and seeds have demonstrated the ability to stop the growth of several cancer cell lines, indicating a viable path for the creation of anticancer medications. Moreover, the plant's ability to lessen illnesses brought on by oxidative stress has been connected to its antioxidant qualities. These encouraging results, thorough clinical assessments, and mechanistic research are necessary to completely clarify A. amara's therapeutic potential and safety profile. With an emphasis on Albizia amara Roxb.'s potential as a source of new therapeutic drugs, this review attempts to present a comprehensive summary of the state of knowledge on its phytochemistry and pharmacological properties. Keywords: Antimicrobial, Anti-inflammatory, Antioxidants, Anticancer, Hepatoprotective, etc. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
