MEDICINAL USES OF CARICA PAPAYA - A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
Miss. Dalvi Puja Gajanan*, Dr. Sagar Ashwini Hanmant
ABSTRACT A common and significant fruit tree in tropical and subtropical regions of the world is the papaya (Carica papaya L.). Around the world, people eat the fruit as a raw fruit or vegetable or as a processed product. In addition to being tasty and nutritious, the entire plant—fruit, root, bark, peel, seeds, and pulp—has been shown to have therapeutic qualities. Papaya's many health advantages are attributed to its high content of vitamins A, B, and C as well as proteolytic enzymes with antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial qualities, such as papain and chymopapain. Papaya is now regarded as a valuable neutraceutical fruit plant since significant new information about its biological activity and medicinal uses has been discovered in recent years. Keywords: Papaya, Papain, Chymopapain, Antiviral, Antifungal, Antibacterial. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
