REVIEW ON PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF RESURRECTION PLANT; HABERLEA RHODOPENSIS FRIV

ABSTRACT Herbal medicines are highly reliable in treating human health issues. Natural plant remedies and their side effects are scientifically significant. This page lists the pharmacological properties and historical background of the resurrection plant, Haberlea rhodopensis. A plant in the Gesneriaceae family that is resistant to desiccation, Haberlea rhodopensis Friv. is abundant in phenylethanoid and flavone glycosides, including myconoside, luteolin, hispidulin, and caffeic acid. The current review focuses on the skin-beneficial properties of antioxidant, antibacterial, anticlastogenic, anticancer, radioprotective, cytoprotective, and immunomodulatory agents. The plant is useful for supplementary research in the development of novel medications because it has no harmful effects.
