ETIOPATHOGENESIS OF MEDOSAMCHAYA IN YAKRIT NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE (NAFLD) - A LITERARY REVIEW

ABSTRACT Non-alcoholic fatty liver (Medosamvchaya in yakrit) is caused by an abnormal buildup of fat in the liver resulting inflammation in liver. If left untreated, fatty liver can lead to cirrhosis, hepatocellular-carcinoma, and end-stage liver disease. From an Ayurvedic standpoint, Santarpanaja vikaras are discovered in large amounts in the current situation as a result of a sedentary lifestyle that involves consuming high-calorie foods without exertion or exercise.
