Abstract

REVIEW OF: ADVERSE DRUG REACTION MONITORING FORM

Chaitali D. Bhange*, Rutuja V. Gulwe and Balaji M. Khawle

ABSTRACT

Adverse drug reaction monitoring is an important element of drug use. India's grandeur, different sociocultural, biotic regions, and healthcare environment influence illness patterns and expose the population to potential Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). This necessitates a well-designed and culturally appropriate pharmacovigilance system. This study looks at India's present system for tracking adverse drug reactions (ADRs). The purpose is to present a clear and complete image of the ADR monitoring system, highlighting its strengths, limitations, and significant features. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) regulates the safety, efficacy, and quality of pharmaceutical goods through more than two hundred Adverse Drug Monitoring Centres (AMCs) around the country. Within the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), these centres report ADRs to National Coordination Centres (NCC) at the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) in Ghaziabad.

Keywords: AMCs, CDSCOs, PVPIs, and National Coordination Centers.
