ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS IN THE CLINICAL USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence has been widely applied in the medical field recently and they rapidly grown in clinical use, such as the medical imaging, pathological diagnosis, mental health, rehabilitation medicine, home health support has been progressed, which also triggered the extensive ethical thinking. Under the perspective of the medical ethics. Artificial intelligence also has the potential to assist clinicians in medical decision-making capacity assessments by providing additional insights to an evaluation process and that remains significant concerns making it unlikely to replace human evaluators anytime soon and it is highly susceptible to biased inputs and thus biased decisions, raises questions about autonomy and creates uncertainty for who is accountable for the ultimate decision. This article explores the current and future usage of artificial intelligence in the clinical aspects with regarding to the ethical considerations and also the controversial status of the moral subjects of artificial intelligence machines, the definition of multiple relationships arising from the machine uses, value the judgements and trust considerations of artificial intelligence technologies, the data accessibility and privacy protection and risk liability arsing from artificial intelligence and the ethical considerations of using artificial intelligence for capacity assessment, the new technologies have significant near term potential as a tool to screen patients, uncover physician biases, and guide next steps after a capacity determination has been made which helps to the major changes that can makes to the development and the usage of the artificial intelligence in the future with regarding to the ethical considerations in the clinical use.
