Prof. Pratiksha Marathe*, Prof. Ashwini Ahire, Ms. Vaishnavi Patil
ABSTRACT Ficus racemosa Linn. (Moraceae) is an important medicinal plant in India. This medicinal plant has long been used in Ayurveda, the ancient system of Indian medicine, for various diseases/disorders including diabetes, liver disorders, diarrhea, inflammatory conditions, hemorrhoids, respiratory, and urinary diseases. Numerous pharmacological properties of acemosa, such as its antidiabetic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antitussive, hepatoprotective, and antibacterial properties, are being investigated. This study was conducted to extract the F. racemosa using methanol and to analyze phytochemicals. The phytochemical analysis of the methanolic extracts revealed the presence of high concentrations of tannins, steroids, alkaloids and flavonoids in the stem bark. Keywords: Ficus Racemosa plant, extraction of stem bark, Chemical tests. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
