NUTRITION, BENEFITS, AND PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF JACKFRUIT
Patel Jensi Nileshbhai*, Patel Rajvi Ramchandra*, Varsha Soni
ABSTRACT Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) is a tropical fruit known for its impressive nutritional profile and diverse range of health benefits. Rich in carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins (notably vitamin C and vitamin B6), minerals (such as potassium, calcium, and magnesium), and phytonutrients, jackfruit serves as a valuable food source. Its seeds are also nutritious, containing proteins, starch, and antioxidants. The health benefits of jackfruit are extensive, including improved digestion due to its high fiber content, enhanced immune function from its vitamin C, and potential antihypertensive effects attributed to its potassium levels. Additionally, jackfruit has been studied for its potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancerproperties. These pharmacological activities are largely attributed to its bioactive compounds and including flavonoids. Keywords: . [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
