ABSTRACT Moringa oleifera leaf extract exhibits antioxidant activity, making it suitable for skin protection. The antioxidants in Moringa leaves include tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids, and terpenoids. This study aimed to determine the optimal formulation for Moringa leaf extract lotion by varying the concentration of triethanolamine. The results indicated that Formula I had a slightly thick texture, while Formula II had a thick texture, with both formulations displaying a dark yellow color. The homogeneity test revealed that Formula I was not homogeneous, whereas Formula II was homogeneous. The average viscosity test for formula I was 8,300 c.Ps, formula II was 1,666 c.Ps. The average pH test for formula I was 7, formula II was 8. The average adhesion test for formula I is 02.006 seconds and formula II is 01.08 sec. The average spreadability test for the lotion shows that the site of administration on the skin with the condition that the spread is 5-7 cm. Based on the evaluation, it was concluded that a 5% concentration of triethanolamine yielded the best formulation for lotion preparations. The prepared lotion was evaluated for its pharmaceutical parameters. Keywords: Antioxidant, Moringa Oleifera, Flavonoids, Triethanolamine, Lotion. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
