*Dr. Ruby Sahu, Dr. Purnima Paliwal and Dr. Arvind Ahuja
ABSTRACT Actinomycetes of gall bladder is extremely rare. Herein, we report the case of a 40 year female presented with intermittent right hypochondriac pain associated with fever and bilious vomitting. Ultrasound abdomen showed dilated common bile duct and calculus in the lumen of gall bladder. Patient was managed conservatively and an open cholecystectomy was carried out later. Microscopic examination of gall bladder showed moderately dense chronic inflammatory infiltrate with pseudopyloric metaplasia and intestinal metaplasia along with numerous colonies of actinomycetes. Post operative period was uneventful. Keywords: Actinomycetes, gall bladder, metaplasia. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
