Abstract

CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF SNAYU GATA VATA WITH MOVEMENT DISORDERS AND NEUROLOGICAL MANIFESTATIONS

ABSTRACT

Vata is said to be controlling the Yantra and Tantra of Deha through its 5 functional sub division namely Prana, Udana, Vyana, Samana, and Apana. A unique concept of Gata Vata is dealt in classics in detail with specific eye-catching feature. This concept basically specifies regarding the Gati of vitiated Vata towards specific site and location and leading to further deterioration. Snayugata Vata is one of the challenging clinical manifestations where in Vata resides in Snayu showing the symptoms like as Stamba, Kampa, Akshepa, Khalli, Ayama, Ekanga/ Sarvanga Vata. Snayugata Vata can be understood under movement disorders causing due to dysfunction of the Shiro Hridaya(Brain) manifesting into different generalised or localised neurological conditions. Thus, an effort is made to comprehensively analyse and corelate Snayu Gata Vata with neurological and movement disorders by comparing it based on clinical signs and symptoms Ayurvedic and Contemporary science.
