ABSTRACT

Herbal asthmatic products in the current scenario are being used to manage asthma. These products are often derived from medicinal plants known for their therapeutic properties. Many researchers in the past highlighted the extracts from plants with potential for their medicinal benefits. Alternative and complementary use these herbal products are either used to replace traditional medication or alongside them to enhance treatment efficacy. The effectiveness of these herbal products is being validated through numerous randomized clinical trials. These trials are designed to scientifically assess the safety and efficacy of the herbal treatments compared to standard treatments. Pharmacognostic specifications involve the study of the physical, chemical, and biological properties of medicinal plants. By specifyingthese properties, researchers ensure the quality, purity, and potency of the herbal products being used. The present review highlights the potential of some specific herbs in asthmatic treatment. The review aims to provide insights into how these herbal treatments can be effective and economical alternatives for managing asthma. This approach underscores the integration of traditional herbal medicine with modern clinical practices to provide a more holistic and effective treatment for asthma.
