SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF DROTAVERINE HCL AND MEFENAMIC ACID BY UV SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD

ABSTRACT Objectives: Simultaneous determination of Drotaverine HCL (DRT HCL) and Mefenamic Acid (MFA) by UV spectrophotometric Method was developed. Method: The simultaneous equation method is based on measurements of absorbance at 235 nm and 222 nm as two wavelengths selected for quantification of DRT HCL and MFA. The proposed method obeys Beers law in concentration range of 2-10 μg/mL for DRT Hcl and 6-30 μg/mL for MFA. Result: The recovery study showed a good agreement of result. Conclusion: This method is found to be precise and accurate and can easily be employed in the laboratory for the routine estimation of drugs.
