Abstract

CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF GARBHINI ARSHA W.S.R. TO HAEMORRHOIDS & ITS MANAGEMENT ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT AYURVEDIC TREATISE

Kharade Nayana Ramkumar* and Sharda Bhagwan Gite

ABSTRACT

Haemorrhoids are varicose veins of the rectum covered by mucosa at or near the anal canal, normally asymptomatic. They do not constitute disease, unless they become symptomatic. Garbhini avastha i.e. pregnancy predispose to symptomatic haemorrhoids due to ‘Garbhotpidana’. Symptoms are usually mild & transient & include intermittent bleeding from anus & pain. Depending on degree of pain quality of life could be affected, varying from mild discomfort to real difficulty in dealing with the activities of everyday life. During pregnancy surgical, para surgical procedures have limitations. Also use of ushna & tikshnakalpas are contraindicated in Garbhini avastha. Present study has been made to derive safe & easy accessible treatment in Garbhini avastha, according to different Ayurvedic Samhita’s. In this study different types of sthanik chikitsa like Avghaha sweda, lepa etc mentioned. Also, different abhyantar yoga like churna, ghrutapana, takrapana etc are mentioned. These medicines can begiven in pregnancy which are not harmful for garbha as well as Garbhini. This can be useful in minimising the lakshana’s of Arsha without affecting the outcome of pregnancy.
