Abstract

PHYTOCHEMISTRY OF RAUVOLFIA TETRAPHYLLA L. ROOT

ABSTRACT

Rauvolfia tetraphylla L. shrub plant belongs to Family Apocynaceae in India. Roots are used in high blood pressure and mental disorders. (kumar et al., 2015]. Roots are used in nervous disorders. (Arulappan et al., 2015) The present work of GC-MS results of root powder extract of Rauwolfia tetraphylla revealed that the presence of 3,4,5-Trimethoxy-benzoic acid methyl ester and Phthalic acid 1-butyl ester 2-decyl ester, Phthalic acid dibutyl ester, 5,5'-Dimethoxy-3,7,3',7'- tetramethyl-[2,2']binaphthalenyl-1,4,1',4'-tetraone, Propanoic acid, 2-(3- acetoxy-4-4,14-trimethylandrost-8-en17-yl. The present study useful to find drug of Rauwolfia tetraphylla L.
