FORMULATION, DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF LIPOSOMES OF MOMETASONE
Piyush Tiwari*, Prashant Maithil and Satkar Prasad
ABSTRACT Transdermal route offers several potential advantages overconventional routes like avoiding putrefaction due to hepatic “firstpass” effect, predictable and extended period of activity, minimizingside effects, utility of drugs having short half life, improvingphysiological and pharmacological response, avoiding the fluctuationin drug levels, reduced inter and intra patient variability, and mostimportantly, it improved patient compliance. But main major problemsin transdermal drug delivery are the low penetration rate across theouter most layer of skin Liposomes were discovered by Bangham andcolleagues and c onsequently became the most expansively exploreddrug delivery system. In early 1960’s a great knowledge of vesiclederivatives has been experienced for their abilities. Mostexperimentation, nevertheless, have centered on liposomes, sincederivations only add to their basic property. Keywords: Transdermal route, Liposomes, Knowledge , Pharmacological.
