APPLICATION OF VATA UPAKRAMA VATAVYADHI IN VARIOUS ASPECTS OF LIFE
Dharmendra Patel*, Vidyadhar Pandhrinath Suryawanshi, Umesh Shukla and Reema Patidar
ABSTRACT Vata, the primary Dosha among the Tridosha, is responsible for controlling bodily movement and flow, leading to diseases called Vatavyadhi. These disorders can be divided into two categories: Dhatukshayajanya Vatavyadhi and Margavrodhjanya Vatavyadhi. Treatments for Vatavikara include Swedana, which involves drugs with opposing properties, and Mridu Shodhana, which uses Adhobhaga or Guda to discharge vitiated Doshas. Mridu Virechan, an oil or preparation containing Sneha, is used to remove the body's Doshas, cure illnesses, and return the body to its natural state of vigor and complexion. Mrudu Virechana Yogas use mild medications with unctuous substances to remove vitiated Doshas, such as Amla, Lavana, Snigdha, and Ushna Sevana Ahara. Basti Chikitsa is considered the best remedy in Panchakarma, Vatavyadhi, with Anuvasana and Asthapana Basti being the greatest Upakrama. Madhura, Lavana,Amla, and Snigdha are powerful Vata Shamak Rasas affected by Ruksha, Laghu, and Khara Gunas of Vata. Basti Karma is most effective when used to treat vitiated Vata, restoring and preserving its equilibrium. Basti Chikitsa can treat most cases and improve nerve regeneration and nervous system performance. Keywords: Vata Vyadhi, Vataupkrmas, Snehana, Swedana, Basti.
