PHARMACEUTICAL APPLICATIONS OF PARTICULATE DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS: AN OVERVIEW
Subham Routray, Soumya Ranjan Das and Bibaswan Mishra*
ABSTRACT A particulate drug delivery system refers to the use of small, discrete particles often on the micro or nanoscale to deliver therapeutic agents to specific sites in the body. These systems are designed to improve the efficacy, safety, and controlled release of drugs. A particulate drug delivery system employs particles such as nanoparticles, microparticles, liposomes, dendrimers, and polymeric micelles to encapsulate, transport, and release drugs in a controlled or targeted manner. This review highlights the key applications of particulate drug delivery in pharmaceutical field in recent scenario. Keywords: Particulate drug delivery system; Dendrimer; Liposomes; Microspheres; Nanosuspensions, Polymeric micelles; Solid Lipid Nanoparticle. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
