A REVIEW ARTICLE ON FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF TEA BAG OF DRIED CRUDE DRUGS AGAINST HYPERLIPIDEMIA

ABSTRACT Hyperlipidemia, characterized by elevated lipid levels in the bloodstream, poses a significant risk for cardiovascular diseases. This review explores the formulation and evaluation of tea bags containing dried crude drugs as a potential intervention for hyperlipidemia. Various plants, including Camellia sinensis (Green tea), Zingiber officinale (Ginger), and Terminalia Arjuna (Arjuna) etc, have demonstrated antihyperlipidemic properties, supported by bioactive compounds such as caffeine, catechin, and polyphenols. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the chemical composition of these plants and their respective families. The procedure for creating tea bags from dried crude drugs is outlined, emphasizing simplicity and sustainability. While the preliminary study suggests promising outcomes, further research, including clinical trials, is warranted to validate efficacy, safety, and dosage recommendations. The integration of herbal tea formulations into lifestyle practices offers a holisticapproach to managing hyperlipidemia and promoting cardiovascular Health.
