ABSTRACT Stem cells present promising new treatment options for regenerating and replacing damaged tissues and organs, thanks to their unique abilities for self-renewal and differentiation into multiple cell types. This review provides an in-depth examination of the characteristics of various stem cell types, exploring their potential uses in both direct (cell-based) and indirect (cell-free) therapies. The study also outlines the technical approaches in stem cell therapy and analyzes key challenges, such as ensuring safety and controlling differentiation. Despite some remaining hurdles, stem cell therapy holds significant promise in regenerative medicine, offering innovative methods for treating a wider range of diseases and injuries. Keywords: .
