Abstract

COCONUT OIL USED AS ANTIFUNGAL

ABSTRACT

Coconut, also known as Cocos Nucifera.[1] Coconut oil is of two varieties: virgin and refined oiCoconut oil should be used in the treatment of fungal infections in view of emerging drug-resistant Candida species. In recent years, virgin coconut oil is liable as a potential antifungal agent.[2] The health and nutritional benefi ts derived from coconut oil are both compelling and contradictory, mainly due to its high saturated fat content as relates to chronic diseases, especially those involving the cardiac system.[3] This detailed analysis addresses its applications in healthcare. Along with its potential as a natural alternative, VCO’s synergistic effects with conventional antifungal drugs are also investigated. Many women are affected by vaginal fungal infections, also called yeast infections. Vvc is a common fungal infection caused by Candida species, predominantly. This study tell us that we need more research about the use of coconut oil as an antifungal drug or antifungal agents. Coconut oil used to treat C. albicans infection in pregnant women. Coconut and their by-products have been used from ancient as culinary (Cooking), cosmetic, and medicinal agents. In addition to its excellent antioxidant properties, coconut oil is said to have hypolipidemic and antimicrobial properties this review states on the usage and historical background of coconut oil, with a particular focus on health benefits. Coconut oil obtained fromthe nuts of Cocos nucifera. Antifungal activity of coconut shell pyrolytic oil against wood decay fungi was explored. Poisoned food technique was employed to indicate the antifungal effect of coconut shell. It is the exclusive source of a wide range of natural resources needed to create both industrial goods and medications to treat different illnesses. World, mostly in the nations that are tropical. Since the coconut palm is revered in Indian classics as "Kalpavriksha," or "the all-giving tree," this review explains the facts and phenomena surrounding its application to health and illness prevention.[17]
