ABSTRACT

Chronic liver disease (CLD) represents a major public health issue on a global scale, impacting millions of individuals across various populations. It stands as a primary contributor to both morbidity and mortality rates, imposing a considerable economic strain on healthcare infrastructures. Aim of this review article is to present of the existing knowledge regarding CLD, encompassing its definition, causes, underlying mechanisms, diagnostic approaches, and treatment methods.
