A REVIEW ON THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF IXORA CHINENSIS FLOWER

ABSTRACT Ixora has been traditionally used to treat a wide range of conditions, including cancer, hepatic disorders, microbial infections, pain, inflammation, and more. Its therapeutic qualities have been established. Several classes of compounds have been reported to be present in the genus Ixora, including flavanoids (rutin, formononetin, β-sitosterol, quercetin, and kaempferol), aromatic acrid oils, tannins, saponins, carbohydrate, fatty acids, and triterpenoids (lupeol, urosilic acid, oleanolic acid, betunolic acid, amyrins, etc.), and sterols. The plant of Ixora chinensis is used as anti-inflammatory activity, anthelmintic activity, anti-asthmatic activity etc. The aim of this review was to collect all available scientific literature published and combine itinto this review.
