Abstract

MUNCHAUSEN SYNDROME BY PROXY

ABSTRACT

Definition: Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental disorder and a form of child abuse. Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a psychological disorder in which the person who is caregiver, parent, guardian, or any close person tries to manipulate by fabricating medical symptoms or induces real symptoms in children's. Prefer getting sympathy for themselves. They let the child get into unnecessary treatments.Points to be noted:1) According to case reports, most of the time mothers are those who suffer from Munchausen syndrome by proxy.2) They manipulate doctors, hospital staff, and people surrounding them.3) They like the constant attention and sympathy.4) It's necessary to recognize and treat them as quickly as you can.5) Psychiatric treatment is a must.The purpose of this is to describe the effects of this dangerous disorder, where children become victims. Also to spread awareness about mental disorders, which are rare for now.
