ABSTRACT Background: Hypertension is increasingly prevalent among younger populations, significantly affecting cardiovascular health and leading to acute organ injury during hypertensive crises. Aim: This review explores the prospective roles of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), paramedics, pharmacists, and health informatics systems in managing hypertensive crises. Methods: The review analyzes recent literature on hypertensive crises, emphasizing their epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management strategies. It highlights the necessity for rapid intervention to prevent target organ damage and explores the collaboration among healthcare providers. Results: Hypertensive crises are classified into emergencies and urgencies, with various pharmacological treatments available. Data indicates that timelyinterventions can mitigate risks and improve patient outcomes, yet challenges remain due to misdiagnosis and treatment delays. Conclusion: Effective management of hypertensive crises requires a coordinated approach among EMS, paramedics, pharmacists, and health informatics systems to ensure rapid and accurate treatment. Implementing standardized protocols can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of care delivery. Keywords: Hypertension, hypertensive crisis, emergency medical services, paramedics, health informatics, pharmacological treatment. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
