Abstract

FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF MOISTURIZING CREAM CONTAINING SALVIA HISPANICA SEED MUCILAGE AND BETA VULGARIS

ABSTRACT

The present study was aimed to design, prepare and evaluate moisturizing cream using salvia hispanica seed mucilage and beta vulgaris. Salvia hispanica have higher concentration of linolenic acid, omega 3 fatty acids, natural antioxidants and minerals properties. This mucilage showing good emulsifying and stabilizing properties. It has been used to improve the texture, stability and consistency of moisturizing cream. This natural mucilage has been shown higher biocompatibility, biodegradability and non-toxicity. The beetroot or beet is a prevalent term of Beta vulgaris. It is a natural coloring agent to give the skin a glow. Antioxidant and UV protection qualities are present in beta vulgaris. The result obtained in this study clearly showed a promising potential of moisturizing cream containing saliva hispanica mucilage and beta vulgaris. Thus it can be concluded that salvia hispanica and beta vulgaris is incorporated in the moisturizing cream to avail of its cosmetic benefits.
