Abstract

CLINICAL EVALUATION OF CHAKRAMARDADI LEPA WITH ARAGWADHADI KWATHA IN DADRU

ABSTRACT

Physical appearance is very much important in today’s world as it helps to boost up one’s self confidence. People are choosing various methods to enhance their physical appearance whether it is about hair, nails or skin. But due to today’s lifestyle and diet, we are very susceptible to various skin disease, one of which is Dadru i.e. Dermatophytosis. Dadru is a subtype of Kushtha Vyadhi. In Ayurveda, most of the skin diseases are considered under the umbrella of Kushtha Vyadhi. Kushtha is further classified into Kshudra and Maha Kushtha. Dadru is Kapha- Pitta Pradhan Tridoshaj Vyadhi. All the symptoms of Dadru i.e. Kandu, raga, Daha, Pidika and Utsanna Mandala, are quite similar to Dermatophytosis, also known as ring worm, a fungal infection of skin, hair and nails. In this case 42 year male patient presented with classical symptoms of Dadru was treated well withexternal and internal medications. Chakramardadi Lepa was applied externally and Aragwadhadi Kwath was for oral intake.
