ROLE OF MADANAPHALADI KWATHA IN STHAULYA WITH LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT Being one of the main lifestyle disorders, Obesity impacts a person's mental, emotional, and social welfare in addition to their physical health. It is one of the most common, yet among the most neglected public health problems in the present world. A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered overweight, and over 30 is obese. According to WHO in 2022, 1 in 8 people in the world were obese. In 2022, 2.5 billion adults (18 years and older) were overweight. Of these, 890 million were living with Obesity. In the current case study, a 38-year-old female patient visited the Kayachikitsa OPD at Rishikul Campus, UAU, Haridwar, with complaints of being overweight (79 kg), Daurbalya, Ati-Nidra, Ati-Kshuda, Ati-Sweda, Utsaha Haani, and Kshudra Swasa. The condition was diagnosed as Sthaulya and the patient was prescribed Madanaphaladi Kwatha 40 ml for 90 days, twice a day, along with dietary changes and lifestyle modifications based on ayurvedic principles. According to the results, the patient benefited from all symptoms after 90 days of management. This case study highlights the potential of ayurvedic treatment methods for Sthaulya, showing that a holistic strategy may be used to relieve symptoms and enhance patient outcomes.
