ABSTRACT The life science of Ayurveda has been teaching the art of healthy life (Physical, mental and spiritual) from ages. Ayurveda work on principle of Dosha, Dhatu, Malas, Srotas, Kala, Asaya, Kostha, Koshtangas, and so on. The word srotas is derived from (Sro+ tasi) which means to flow, permeate, to convey. According to Acharya charaka, Srotas is "Sravanat Srotansi," which means srotas are the stream or channel of circulation which carries the dhatu and dhoshas. Hence „Sravan Kriya‟ is going in srotas. Every Srotas has its own Moolasthana, or root. Moolasthana of Srotas was described by Chakrapani as Prabhava Sthana. In Ayurveda Yakrit (liver) Pleeha (Spleen) and Raktavahi Dhaminiyan (Greater artery of body) are known as Moola (Basis) of Raktavaha Srotas. The main Dhatu which has relation with Yakrit and Pleeha is Rakta (Blood). So this review may describe, clarify and summarize the fundamental applied aspect of raktavaha srotas in anatomical structure, pathological changes, diagnostic value andtreatment from classical and contemporary science. Keywords: Srotas, Raktavaha, Moolasthan, Yakrit, Pleeha. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
